2008 John J. Symanitz Award Recipient:
Gary H. Wert
Gary H. Wert grew up in southwest Minneapolis and graduated from Southwest High School. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and was a member of the Big Ten championship golf team. He became an assistant golf professional at the Town and Country Club in St. Paul, MN. He entered the life insurance business in the mid-1970s with the Wheeler Agency of Northwestern National Life. When NWNL eliminated their career agency program, Gary started his own agency.
