Be a Better Communicator: How to Get to the Point and Make Messages Stick

Health care is getting more complex, schedules are busier, and attention spans are getting shorter. No wonder it can seem harder than ever to be understood and to really connect with your audience, whether you’re giving a big presentation or sitting across a table one-on-one. Communications expert Gary Hornseth has worked with hundreds of professionals across dozens of industries, helping them sharpen their communications skills, get their message across clearly, and serve their clients better.

Presented by:  Gary Hornseth, Principal Advisor for Strategic Communications, HealthPartners, Inc.

Gary Hornseth is principal advisor for strategic communications at HealthPartners, providing senior-level strategic counsel and services in areas including public relations, marketing, business development, crisis communications, internal communications and culture, message development and planning, and others.

Prior to joining HealthPartners, Hornseth was principal of Hornseth Communications, a communications consultancy he formed in 2000, during which he worked on behalf of clients such as Cargill, Best Buy, Andersen Windows and Thomson Reuters. Previously, he helped found the Twin Cities office of Fleishman-Hillard, one of the world’s leading public relations firms, and worked at the Twin Cities firm of Mona Meyer McGrath and Gavin, now Weber Shandwick. He holds an MA in Mass Communication and a BA in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, and has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas.
