November Monthly Meeting

Health Insurance Agents’ Role in
Minnesota Health Care Reform for 2010

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Speakers: Greg Dattilo, CEBS, Dattilo Consulting, Inc.
Dave Racer, MLitt, President and CEO, Alethos Press, LLC

This course presents health care reform initiatives generated by the health insurance agent community, and compares and contrasts them with current and expected Congressional and State negotiations. Agents’ reform efforts are presented in the context of pending state and federal changes, and how these agent proposals will better serve the insured and uninsured populations in Minnesota. Specifically, this seminar will address up to 12 legislative initiatives that will result in increasing access to affordable health care and health insurance, while helping to reduce the cost of care to government and people with private health insurance.

Key Learnings and Session Objectives:

  • Grasp and apply knowledge about health care reform trends. Thus, they will be able help clients make informed decisions about health plans in the context of the current and anticipated health care reform effort.
  • Help evaluate new health insurance reform initiatives in light of best benefit to their clients.
  • Be a community resource to aid in the understanding and proper use of health insurance plans as a way to indemnify and protect health and financial assets.
