Speaker: Nicolaas P. Pronk, Ph.D., M.A., FACSM, FAWHP
This presentation is designed to provide an overview of best practice characteristics for health and wellness programs presented in the context of a comprehensive program design. In addition, results of specific components as well as a real-world case study will be discussed. At the end of this presentation, the participants will be able to:
- Recognize critical best practice features for health and wellness programs
- Appreciate the importance of incentives and communications in engaging employees into programs
- Understand the critical role of health assessments in quantifying participant health risk information
- Recognize the connection between program design, participant experience, health and productivity change, and return on investment
Nicolaas P. Pronk, Ph.D., M.A., FACSM, FAWHP is Health Science Officer for JourneyWell, a division of HealthPartners focused on health and wellness solutions for employers and health plans across the United States (see www.journeywell.com). He is also vice president for Health Management at HealthPartners, a large non-profit, member-governed integrated health system in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Pronk conducts research in the area of health behavior change and population health at the HealthPartners Research Foundation.
