Congratulations to our 2010 award recipients!
Congratulations to John Tyler from Boys and Tyler Financial Group, Inc., who received MAHU’s highest award: the John J. Symanitz Award. Few agents have given the amount of time, effort, and financial resources as has John Tyler to the legislative concerns of the Minnesota Association of Health Underwriters. Tyler serves as the Chair of the Offense Committee on the Legislative Committee. For more than two years, Tyler has worked to refine the legislative language that will advance a key component of the MAHU legislative agenda. He has attended dozens of meetings with legislators, regulators, coalition members, and MAHU members. He is a leader and innovator in the sales and provision of health insurance products and services, through his agency, as an advocate of consumer-driven health plans.
Congratulations to McKaela Grasmick from Learn CDHC, the David LeClair winner. McKaela thrives on networking, meeting new people, and making valuable business connections for herself and others. McKaela has been in the health insurance industry for 1.5 years. That is how long she's been a member of MAHU as well. Through her employer, Learn CDHC, she helps brokers and employers more effectively communicate to employees about health care and benefits. Within MAHU, she is the Membership Chair on the Board of Directors and has set a goal of 500 members by April 2010. She organized a committee of approximately 10 people to help come up with ideas and execution plans in order to make that goal a reality. Her current role as Director of Sales and Marketing at Learn CDHC allows McKaela to meet with brokers, agents, custodians, carriers, PEOs, employers and/or TPAs every week to introduce engaging ways to communicate about consumer driven health care and employee benefits. She asks the important question during every meeting: “Are you a member of MAHU?”
