| Consumer Driven Health Plans (Health Reimbursement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts) have grown in popularity over the past few years and today 12% of individuals are in these plans. Two thirds of employers in the United States either offer or plan to offer these plans in the next year. It’s no longer a matter of “should I do consumerism?” but is now, “how do I do it best?” Experience from early adopters and from insurers who provide these plans have identified key areas where Consumer Driven Health Plans succeed best—known as best practices. Following best practices is the key means to make sure a consumerism strategy succeeds. This session will explore the various best practices of Consumer Driven Health Care from the perspective of local carrier industry leadership. |

| One of the keys to success of population health and health benefit plan design is empowering health care consumers with tools and information to help them make good decisions about their health and health care dollars. As consumers are forced to navigate the ever-changing world of benefits, it’s becoming apparent that more help is needed as employees forgo routine and preventive care services, putting long-term health at risk. This session will discuss ways to incorporate wellness solutions into a medical benefits plan design, so both individuals and the sponsoring organization can benefit. Done correctly, an employer can help advance its financial goals while rewarding employees for healthy behaviors. |
