Description: It is no secret that prescription drug spending is one of the biggest problems in healthcare. Americans spent more than $580 billion on prescriptions in 2020 and this is expected to grow by 8% yearly. Medication non-adherence causes nearly 125,000 deaths, 10 percent of hospitalizations and costs the already strained healthcare system $289 billion a year. The number one cause of medication non-adherence is cost. We will discuss ways that employers, brokers, employees and consumers can save money on prescriptions.
