Committee/Volunteer Information

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee oversees the continued communications of MAHU, including the website, eblasts and the monthly MAHU e-newsletters. The MAHU Certification program falls under the Communications Committee, as does the Awards Program. The Communications Committee also aids in distribution of messaging to the public.

Corporate Sponsorship Committee
This committee works with treasurer and the board to secure the corporate sponsors for the organization for the year.

Legislative Committee
This committee has the following responsibilities:

  • Communicate with NABIP on items happening at the state level or the federal level.
  • Articulate and communicate MAHU views on health care benefits.
  • Collate and coordinate opinions and feedback from MAHU members.
  • Amplify the "voice" of MAHU members and clients.
  • Maintain contact with our legislatures in Washington, DC.
  • Attend Capital Conference in Washington, DC each year.
  • Work with our state lobbies here in MN.
  • Attend and actively participate in "Day on the Hill" at the State Capital.
  • Stay connected with NABIP through monthly calls with the NABIP Legislative Regional Meeting.

Membership Committee
The MAHU Membership Committee works to recruit and retain members throughout the state of Minnesota. The MAHU Membership Committee also ensures that the MAHU office maintains complete and accurate records of the Association’s membership and reconcile reports monthly with NAHU.

  • Review reports for accuracy and work with the office to correct any errors.
  • Provide a monthly retention percentage report and monthly membership report to the Board of Directors.

Professional Development Committee
The MAHU Professional Development Committee is charged with selecting speakers, programs and locations of the MAHU Monthly Luncheon programs as well as the Annual Sales Convention. The Professional Development Committee also manages approval of CE credits for all programs.
